Frontier-Kemper-Tutor Perini joint venture is seeking a Office Intern to join our Manhattan Tunnel Project in New York, New York.
About Frontier-Kemper
Excellence in Underground and Heavy Civil Construction
Frontier-Kemper-Tutor Perini joint venture was awarded the Manhattan Tunnel Project, part of the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). A $1.18 billion design-build contract from the Gateway Development Commission for the HTP which aims to enhance rail resiliency by adding two new tracks between New York and New Jersey and rehabilitating the storm-damaged North River Tunnel. The project includes designing and constructing twin 30-foot diameter, 700-foot-long tunnels under the Hudson River, connecting to existing tunnels beneath Hudson Yards, and an access shaft at 12th Avenue, later serving as a ventilation facility.

DESCRIPTION:
The Office Intern will provide administrative and operational support to project teams and office staff within a fast-paced construction environment. This role offers hands-on exposure to construction operations, document management, and coordination activities that support active projects. The intern will assist with day-to-day office tasks while gaining valuable insight into the construction industry and project lifecycle.
  • Provide general administrative support to project managers, engineers, and office staff
  • Assist with document control, including organizing, filing, and maintaining project records (digital and hard copy)
  • Support the preparation of reports, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Help track project documentation such as RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Coordinate meetings, take notes, and assist with scheduling as needed
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records in company systems
  • Assist with vendor communications and basic procurement tasks
  • Support onboarding documentation and general HR or recruiting efforts (if applicable)
  • Maintain office organization, supplies, and filing systems

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook; PowerPoint a plus)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of construction terminology is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude
