Job description

SUMMARY

The role includes developing and maintaining relationships with customers by understanding technical challenges and providing solutions via presentations, proposals, quotations, and samples.  The individual is responsible for analyzing opportunities and making recommendations to secure additional business and develop new product roadmaps. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Preparation of quotations and proposals
  • Performs technical review of customer specifications and assists internal team with providing any technical support to customers
  • Makes recommendations for product solutions, with all appropriate remarks and exceptions
  • Discusses product recommendations with Outside Sales, Engineering, and customer to provide best solutions for customer
  • Develops pricing and margin recommendations based on overall knowledge of products, markets and customer needs
  • Coordinates creation of customer-facing configuration and specification drawings in support of proposals as needed
  • Coordinates customer quotation or technical request with respective Amphenol sales office and forwards request appropriately when needed
  • Assists customers and Business Development Managers in determining the optimal product solution to meet end-user requirements
  • Interprets customer drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards to develop interconnect designs when requested by customers
  • Keeps informed of industry and market trends and requirements to provide input into new product innovations and anticipated customer demands
  • Communicates design concerns, drawing errors, interpretation issues, and manufacturability enhancements to Outside Sales and customer's technical contacts as needed
  • Provides support to Micro-Coax Product Engineers and Process Engineers once quotation becomes an order
  • In support of Marketing and Product Managers, provides content for customer-facing specifications for use in advertisements, literature and websites
  • Assesses cost impact of customer changes to develop cost estimates
  • Provides customer's technical contacts with onsite technical support involving industry standards, specifications, design assistance, production capabilities, and material requirements
  • Must be able to fully understand the company's production capabilities and data requirements

Must be able to communicate professionally with all levels  inside and outside the organization

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
