JOB PURPOSE

The Junior Business Development Associate works closely with the EVP of Business Development and other team members to build foundational skills and contribute to long-term business development initiatives. The position is designed as a developmental role, with the goal of progressing into a Business Development Manager position upon successful mastery of responsibilities and performance expectations.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
    1. Work closely with the EVP of Business Development and other team members to develop an understanding of the LDi way, processes, and industry.
    2. Participate in meetings, calls, and training to learn company offerings, processes, and industry standards.
    3. Creatively source and recruit freight broker agent partners to join the LDi team using networking, in-house leads, competitive intelligence/research sourcing tools, etc.
    4. Maintain accurate records of leads, contacts, and activities in CRM or tracking systems.
    5. Provide recruiting sourcing recommendations to the team.
    6. Utilize social media, Indeed, and LinkedIn to find new, and stay connected with, candidates.
    7. Develop and build strong relationships with business partners, leads, networks, and teammates.
    8. Assist Agent Development Managers with the on-boarding process.
    9. Attend LDi’s weekly sales meeting.
    10. Perform project support tasks related to business development initiatives.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in recruiting or sales (experience may be overlooked in place of additional education).
  • Logistics experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Confidence and ability to prospect, cold call, network, and develop relationships.
  • Proficiency with job boards and social media strategies.
  • Selfmotivated, energetic selfstarter with a positive attitude.
