Production Support Engineer (L1 / L1+) - Equities & Risk Platforms

We're looking for a Production Support Engineer (L1 / L1+) to join a high-performing team supporting mission-critical Equities and Risk platforms. This role sits at the intersection of technology, trading operations, and data, offering exposure to real-time systems in a fast-paced financial environment.

What You'll Do
  • Monitor and support production applications for equities trading, pricing, and risk systems
  • Perform first-line investigation and triage of incidents, alerts, and batch failures
  • Support daily risk and pricing processes critical to business operations
  • Analyze application logs, workflows, and data flows to identify root causes
  • Escalate complex issues to engineering teams with clear analysis and context
  • Execute and improve operational procedures and controls
  • Support and maintain workflow scheduling and orchestration pipelines (e.g., Airflow)
  • Ensure data availability and integrity across systems
  • Collaborate with traders, developers, and global support teams
  • Participate in release cycles, deployments, and validation activities
  • Contribute to automation, monitoring enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date runbooks and documentation

What You Bring
  • 2-5 years of experience in Production Support, Application Support, SRE, or Backend Engineering
  • Strong understanding of Java-based applications and backend systems
  • Hands-on experience working in Linux/Unix environments
  • Solid SQL skills with the ability to investigate data issues
  • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools such as:
    • Splunk
    • Grafana
    • Kibana / ELK Stack
  • Understanding of distributed systems and APIs
  • Exposure to:
    • Kafka or messaging systems
    • REST APIs
    • CI/CD pipelines
    • Git
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
