Position Title: Engineering Manager
Department: Engineering

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the engineering and support teams responsible for delivering control system projects. As a key member of Petrotech’s management team, you will provide hands-on leadership across all project phases—from scoping and design through commissioning and delivery. This role serves as the principal technical authority, offering expert guidance internally and externally, resolving complex technical and operational challenges, and ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering and technical teams to define project scope, develop materials and labor estimates, and ensure successful project execution within approved schedules and budgets.

• Apply advanced technical expertise to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex control system challenges in collaboration with customers.

• Oversee the design, evaluation, and selection of control system architectures, components, and solutions to meet project requirements.

• Supervise the preparation of system specifications, engineering drawings, test plans, and project documentation.

• Represent Petrotech in technical discussions with clients, vendors, engineering partners, and other stakeholders.

• Provide on-site customer training and technical support to promote project success and client satisfaction.

• Monitor project execution to ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols, safety requirements, and industry best practices.

• Assign project tasks, manage departmental resources, and oversee workflows to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.

• Promote continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and team performance.

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the design, commissioning, and troubleshooting of industrial control systems.

• Strong preference for experience with rotating machinery and within the Energy Industry.

• At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience managing engineering and technical personnel.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of industrial control system design, integration, and commissioning.

• Ability to resolve complex technical challenges under time-critical conditions.

• Knowledge of system architectures, PLC/DCS systems, instrumentation, and industrial communication protocols.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple concurrent projects.

• Strong organizational and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with turbine, compressor, or rotating machinery control systems.

• Advanced knowledge of energy industry standards and best practices.

• Professional Engineering (PE) license or progress toward licensure.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of up to 10 engineering and technical team members.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

• Occasional travel to industrial sites for project support and client engagement.

Working Conditions

• Primarily office based.

• Occasional exposure to industrial environments during on-site project visits.
