Job description

Role Overview
As a manager supporting the Senior PE Supplier Development Manager in driving strategic sourcing initiatives, strengthening engineering interfaces, identifying cost-reduction opportunities, and managing overall supplier performance. Responsible for uncovering and executing cost-saving strategies, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and ensuring that all supplied materials consistently meet the company's quality standards.
The PE Supplier Development Manager is responsible for developing new components for the electric vehicle PE System-including the Motor, Reducer, Inverter, and ICCU-and ensuring their successful integration into assembly operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)
Project Management
  • Is responsible for part development and implementations
  • Conducts detailed project plans, tactical execution, schedules in each part project
  • Provides Management overview and reporting on critical project tasks
  • Maintains strong relationship with suppliers, internal and external customers
  • Communicates regularly with upper management including HQ regarding the status of current projects, obtains upper management guidance and approval as required

Supplier Management
  • Leads suppliers to meet the quality requirement during project and program
  • Respond to supply shortages for supplier-related issues
  • Conducts Value engineering for any possible cost savings
  • Suggests ECR for cost reduction, quality improvement, and lean production
  • Is responsible for supplier's ISIR review and approval, supplier quality audit
  • Collects and summarizes documents from suppliers and support HQ, Sales and Customer request
  • Other tasks as assigned

AUTHORITY & SCOPE
This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required

Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)
Required Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience in engineering, manufacturing, automotive, or related technical fields
  • 3+ years of supervisory or lead experience managing teams, projects, or cross-functional initiatives
  • 3 + years of experience in Supplier Development, Supplier Quality Management, or the automotive/battery industry

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and proficiency in drawing interpretation.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills

Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Die-casting, Lamination press, Forging, PCB assembly process.
  • Ability to understand 2D/3D drawings and knowledge of design tools
  • Experience in using ERP system, Quality management system.
  • Ability to speak and write fluently in both Korean and English

Working Conditions:
  • Office setting, some walking within and between buildings
  • Overtime as needed
  • Frequent travel with possible overnight or extended stays
  • Working in all Development work groups if needed
