Overview

Description

This position serves as the liaison between the client, TPB departments and destination partners with an emphasis on managing meeting planners' and travel trade representatives' needs to determine the appropriate products and services needed to increase economic impact for the destination. The Destination Services Manager primarily serves and supports the Vice Presidents of both group and leisure sales to close future business. They do this by managing Destination Reviews and site inspections as well as servicing groups to ensure the successful execution of meetings and events with a maximum economic impact.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Sales

Collaboratively works with the Group and Leisure Sales teams to present appropriate products and services to clients and manage the showcasing of the destination.

Through proactive communication, understands client's needs to successfully coordinate and manage Destination Reviews, and customized site inspections in order to assist the securing of future business for the destination.

Utilizes promotional tools, products, and services for incoming confirmed groups, meetings and conventions, as well as support travel trade representatives to help increase attendance, economic impact and repeat business to the destination.

Actively recruits new community partners to effectively support the needs of visitors while expanding content, marketing, and communication efforts of the destination.

Develops and expands partnerships within the community and industry to actively support customer requests.

Supports clients in planning and executing events while maintaining up-to-date knowledge on industry trends and trainings.

Oversees the creation of assets to elevate communication as well as marketing and attendance building tools to effectively support meetings and events.

Educates, communicates and showcases the diverse options of the destination to clients and attendees.

Services / Administrative

Manages the creation and coordination of itineraries for assigned site inspections and Destination Reviews for both Group Sales and the Leisure Sales team.

Manages and leads pre/during/post communications for assigned confirmed meetings or conventions ensuring attendance and proper information is communicated between client and destination partners.

Maintains working knowledge of organization's policies, procedures, and systems to manage invoices, expenses, and budget.

Utilizes CRM database, Simpleview, along with monthly reports to allow for effective and efficient communication and analysis in the execution of services.

Procures when available, the partnership of the community to enhance experiences for site visits and Destination Reviews.

Supports the servicing of promotional inventory and other specialized materials for the Global Sales and Services department.

Supports the execution of special projects as needed.

Expectations

Maintains a high level of destination product knowledge of Palm Beach County and The Palm Beaches partner network through site inspections, proactive engagement, and contact with key partners.

Establishes positive relationships with destination partners that will help assist client and team in value added opportunities.

Demonstrates an ability and willingness to provide efficient and quality service to both internal and external customers.

Uses specialized knowledge, sales, and technological training to successfully execute on responsibilities and proactively seeks out solutions.

Adapts quickly to changing volume of work and responds appropriately and positively to various situations.

Keeps informed on trends and events through industry association involvement.

Utilizes learning & development tools to support development of talent to remain relevant and innovative in the industry.

Qualifications

Qualifications, Education, Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years hospitality industry experience specifically in sales and services
  • Proficient in MS office products
  • Database management experience, Simpleview a plus
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to clearly write routine reports and correspondence to internal team members, community partners and clients.
  • Must be willing to work irregular hours including evening and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license

Work Environment

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work will require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Event set up may require carrying boxes of promotional materials and equipment for presentations.
