Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Windows Desktop Support Tech, supporting TOS II, at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. As a Windows Desktop Support Tech, you will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for support and maintenance of Desktops and Peripherals for the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Open to internal and external candidates. The selected candidate for this requisition may be required to occasionally (e.g. application upgrades) work outside normal business hours.

Job Summary

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee.  AEDC operates more than 55 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges and other specialized units located in six states. Many of the complex's test units have capabilities unmatched elsewhere in the United States; some are unique in the world. AEDC is one of three installations which are part of the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), one of six subordinate commands of the Air Force Materiel Command organization, and an important national resource.

AEDC's mission is to conduct developmental tests and evaluations for the Nation through modeling, simulation, and ground and flight test.  Execution of the mission requires a large team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals from multiple technical disciplines to effectively accomplish the objectives of our test customers.

BNH currently has an exciting career opportunity available for a Windows Desktop Support Tech to join our team at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee.

 

Job Duties:

  • Desktop & End-User Support: Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware (desktops, laptops, printers) and software; actively monitor and resolve Helpdesk tickets while providing training and excellent technical assistance to users.
  • Imaging & Deployment: Create, maintain, and deploy Windows 11 client "gold" images to areas across the Base.
  • Software & O365 Administration: Configure, maintain, and support the Microsoft Office 365 environment alongside other enterprises and specialized software applications to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Security Hardening & STIGs: Implement system security configurations, hardening, and vulnerability patching for clients and servers in strict accordance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and DoD policies.
  • Cybersecurity Compliance: Ensure Cybersecurity requirements for Air Force IT system networks are consistently documented, evaluated, and compliant; collaborate with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) on information assurance regulations.
  • Process & Technology Improvement: Maintain working knowledge of emerging IT technologies, participate in capability reviews, and support standard work processes across the TOS contract.
  • Operational Availability: Maintain availability outside of standard working hours to remediate critical IT issues as required.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT-related field
  • M06: 1 year of progressively relevant experience.
  • M07: 2 years of progressively relevant experience.
  • In lieu of bachelor's degree 4+ years of IT-related experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
  • Current US Citizenship required.

  • Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA A+ certifications.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in desktop hardware/software setup, client/server patch management, and administration of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and MS Visio.
  • Imaging Experience: Demonstrated practical experience creating, managing, and deploying Windows client "gold" images.
  • Problem-Solving & Multitasking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to effectively troubleshoot technical issues and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Communication & Customer Service: Excellent oral and written communication skills; a "can-do" attitude with a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with peers, customers, and personnel at all organizational levels.
