Job description

Position Overviewย 

Align seeks a highly experienced and motivated Desktop Engineer that possesses strong client-service skills and solid desktop troubleshooting experience. This position will report to the Align Managed Services team, which provides monitoring and support services for critical and noncritical IT assets. Prior Hedge Fund or Alternative Investment industry experience is preferred. Qualified candidates will have prior experience providing deskside, technical support for executives and VIPs in a Corporate Environment. Excellent customer service, follow-up, and communication skills are a must.ย ย ย 

  • This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence four days per week at client sites.
  • You willย be requiredย toย participateย in a rotational on-call schedule that includes overnights and weekendsย 
  • This is a full-time position offering full benefits, a salary in the $80K to $95K range.

Responsibilitiesย 

  • Provide on-site desk side support for desktop-related and end user technical issues at one of our key managed services client locationsย 
  • Provide outstanding customer service, IT support, follow through and resolution with a focus on Executive and VIP end usersย 
  • Work closely with clientsย possessingย varying levels of IT knowledge and provide technical support for users, including issues related to IP phone, desktop,ย connectivity,ย and desktop applications (Microsoft Office / O365)ย 
  • Install,ย upgrade,ย and remove desktop applications / user workstationsย 
  • Troubleshoot general computer and server problems and ensure all systems, workstations and printers are in working order andย operatingย efficientlyย 

Preferred Qualificationsย 

  • 2 to 5 years of experience working with a Managed Services Providerย 
  • The ideal candidate will hold aย Bachelor'sย degree or equivalent professional certificationsย 
  • Advanced understanding of troubleshooting theory, systematic troubleshooting, split-half triageย 
  • Previousย experience with Hybrid & Cloud environmentsย 
  • Proven ability toย operateย MS 365, Exchange, Intune, Entra ID (Azure AD)ย 
  • Strong understanding of Remote Work Systems (VPNs, VMs/AVDs, RDC)ย 
  • Familiarity with Active Directory & Group Policyย 
  • Basic networking skillsย 
  • Some Hedge Fund or Alternative Investment industry experience is strongly preferredย ย 

Qualificationsย 

  • A minimum of four years of desktop support / end user technical support experienceย 
  • Candidate must be client-focused, comfortable interfacing with executive clients and able toย maintainย a high levelย of serviceย 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to be prompt and courteousย 
  • Strong attention to detail, multitasking skills, and sense of teamworkย 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced & dynamic environmentย
