Job description

AWS Fintech is seeking an exceptional Senior UX Manager to join our Research & Design team and drive the future of enterprise financial experiences. In this role, you'll lead a team of designers and researchers while driving AI-first research and design operations across the Finance ecosystem, including Uno, QuickSuite, and Cloudscape. You'll deliver deployment-ready products through Roster and AMPS, scaling them across Amazon and with external customers following our re:Invent demonstrations.
Key job responsibilities
1

AI-First Research & Design Operations
- Establish and evolve research and design operations with an AI-first approach, implementing automated research mechanisms that reduce discovery cycles
- Build scalable UX processes and mechanisms including design toolkits, research templates, journey maps, and impact measurement methodologies
- Drive operational excellence through telemetry coverage, real-time analytics on task completion rates, page load times, and error rates across AWS Fintech products
- Ensure WCAG AA and AAA accessibility compliance for enterprise products
2. Platform Adoption & Cross-Organizational Partnerships
- Drive platform adoption across the Finance ecosystem including Uno (AWS Finance central system), QuickSuite (AI-powered analytics), and Cloudscape (AWS Design System)
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships across multiple finance and business intelligence teams across Amazon
- Contribute to the 'Partner Patterns' program with Cloudscape, scaling design system adoption with Amazon-wide finance teams
- Collaborate on cross-organizational initiatives with product, engineering, and business teams
3. Product Delivery & Strategic Impact
- Deliver deployment-ready products through Roster (headcount management for tens of thousands of employees), AMPS (budget lifecycle management for billions in spend), and other AWS Fintech platforms
- Enable your team to create features across the AWS Fintech product ecosystem, contributing to senior leadership goals and organizational objectives
- Own senior leadership, CFO-level, and org-level goals; co-author annual operating plan documents summarizing research and design impact and headcount requests
- Establish and track customer experience metrics across multiple products, driving measurable improvements in satisfaction and ease of use
- Balance hands-on design work with team leadership, contributing directly to high-priority projects while enabling team success
4.

Team Leadership & People Development
- Lead and develop a team of designers and researchers across product design, user research, and design systems
- Build a high-performing team culture focused on innovation, customer obsession, and operational excellence
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development to help team members grow and advance
- Drive hiring and promotion decisions to build future design leaders
- Conduct performance management and ensure team alignment with Amazon Leadership Principles
A day in the life
Your day is a blend of leading your team and rolling up your sleeves on high-impact work. You might start your morning coaching a designer through a complex workflow challenge, then jump into a design critique where you're helping the team refine features for our headcount management platform. Afternoons could involve partnering with finance teams across Amazon to understand their pain points, or diving into research sessions with CFO office users to validate new AI-powered features.
You'll spend time removing blockers for your team, tracking how our products are performing through accessibility metrics and user feedback, and collaborating with partners across the company to scale our design system adoption

Some days you're presenting UX strategy to senior leaders, other days you're hands-on prototyping a new concept or facilitating a co-creation workshop. The constant thread is solving real problems for finance professionals while developing your team to do their best work. Key focus areas include scaling enterprise patterns adoption, maintaining operational excellence through telemetry analysis, and preparing products for Amazon-wide and external customer deployment.

About the team
The AWS Fintech Research & Design team has established itself as a leader in enterprise UX innovation, earning recognition as the first AWS product to win a prestigious UX Design Award from the International Design Center-Berlin (selected from 440+ global submissions). Our flagship product Uno, along with AMPS, has been featured in the Wall Street Journal as daily insight tools used by Amazon and AWS CFOs. You'll join a global team across Seattle, Hyderabad, and Jersey City that's redefining enterprise financial experiences through AI-first research, scalable design operations, and measurable business impact-all while working on products that serve 30K+ Amazonians and manage $2.75B+ in spend.
