Summary
Primarily responsible for leading the drafting and design team, ensuring high-quality project designs, and managing the development of new hires. This role requires significant expertise in civil design, staff management, and maintaining company and industry standards.
Roles & Responsibilities


• Manage a team of CAD technicians & engineering assistants.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide mentorship to the Civil team.
• Hire and train employees in trajectory from Engineering Assistant, to Engineer Intern (EI), to Professional Engineer (PE).
• Participate in steering groups for company future and leadership development.
• Develop detailed designs in compliance with industry standards.
• Produce CAD drawings and design layouts using applicable engineering design and modeling software.
• Create and review construction plans for accuracy and correctness.
• Execute multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications and client requirements.
• Perform drainage calculations, quantity calculations, and cost estimations for projects.
• Resolve project issues promptly and provide team support.
• Act as one of the primary contacts to clients for project coordination.
• Ensure team stays current with software updates to ensure proficiency.
• Manage and prepare for annual software changes company wide.
• Create and maintain tutorials for software and procedural training.
• Generate and update company-wide drafting and design standards and templates.
• Serve as SME and provide advanced software skills and technical support to employees as needed
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve design issues.
• Communicate effectively with project engineer and clients to meet project requirements.
• Mentor team members in design practices and industry standards.

• 10+ years’ experience in civil engineering design and drafting.
• Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D, with comprehensive knowledge of all program features.
