Job description

About the Role
Do you enjoy solving technical challenges, coordinating complex infrastructure systems, and helping transform design intent into real-world execution? Weโ€™re looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Division 27 Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure systems across complex construction projects.
In this role, youโ€™ll work closely with subcontractors, BIM/VDC teams, suppliers, field leadership, and design partners to ensure Division 27 systems are fully coordinated, constructable, and ready for field execution. Youโ€™ll play a key role during design/assist and design-build phases by helping develop field-ready work packages that align with installation sequencing, room readiness, procurement timelines, and project delivery requirements.
From pathways and backbone infrastructure to racks, cabinets, and low-voltage support systems, youโ€™ll help bridge the gap between design and construction while supporting successful execution from preconstruction through turnover.
What Youโ€™ll Do โ€“ Coordinate with Clarity. Execute with Confidence.
  • Review structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure scope with subcontractors to validate pathways, room layouts, rack elevations, cabinet requirements, and installation assumptions.
  • Assist in converting design intent into coordinated, field-executable work packages aligned with sequencing and construction realities.
  • Coordinate closely with BIM/VDC, technical leads, procurement teams, and field leadership to ensure installation plans align with project schedules and execution strategies.
  • Proactively identify design omissions, interface conflicts, scope gaps, and constructability concerns before release to the field.
  • Participate in coordination efforts that validate constructability, scope completeness, and execution readiness across evolving project designs.
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, revisions, and technical documentation to maintain alignment between design requirements and field conditions.
  • Work with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure materials align with installation sequencing and project milestones.
  • Provide technical clarification and coordination support to field teams during installation and execution phases.
  • Support updates to drawings and documentation based on field redlines, scope revisions, and as-built conditions.
  • Support commissioning preparation, turnover documentation, and final closeout activities for Division 27 systems.
Systems Youโ€™ll Support
  • Copper and fiber backbone systems, horizontal cabling, pathways, cable tray, and telecommunications infrastructure
  • Racks, cabinets, patching environments, equipment spaces, and supporting technology infrastructure
  • Data centers, high-availability facilities, and technically complex infrastructure projects
  • Coordination across Division 26 electrical systems, Division 27 low-voltage systems, Division 28 security systems, and adjacent construction trades
What You Bring
  • 3โ€“6+ years of experience supporting structured cabling, low-voltage infrastructure, or construction-related technical environments
  • Working knowledge of Division 27 systems including copper, fiber, pathways, racks, cabinets, and telecommunications infrastructure
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and translate technical design intent into coordinated execution plans
  • Understanding of room readiness, installation sequencing, and field coordination workflows
  • Familiarity with design-assist and design-build project delivery methods
  • Exposure to BIM/VDC coordination tools and model-based construction workflows preferred
  • Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, revisions, and field change processes
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and field teams
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with focus on constructability and execution success
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, schedule-driven construction environments
  • Experience supporting data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects is a plus
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • BICSI Technician or related industry certifications are a plus
Whatโ€™s in It for You?
  • Gain exposure to large-scale, complex infrastructure and mission-critical construction environments.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers, construction leaders, BIM/VDC professionals, and field teams to deliver high-impact projects.
  • Build technical coordination, field execution, and project delivery expertise within a growing organization.
  • Every project brings new coordination challenges, technical problem-solving opportunities, and learning experiences.
  • Comprehensive compensation package including benefits, professional development opportunities, and career growth potential.
Work Environment
This role operates in both office and active construction site environments. Responsibilities may include standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds while participating in field coordination and installation activities. Close visual attention is required for reviewing drawings, technical documentation, and field conditions.
To support business operations and team collaboration, preference will be given to candidates based in Texas, North Carolina, New Jersey, Virginia, Illinois, South Carolina, or Louisiana.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
Ready to Help Build the Infrastructure Behind Whatโ€™s Next?
If youโ€™re energized by technical coordination, low-voltage infrastructure, and helping teams execute complex projects successfully, weโ€™d love to hear from you. Apply today and help bring smarter, more connected infrastructure to life.
