Prototype and Test Lab Assistant


Job Overview:


Our client is a pioneer and global leader in the home fitness equipment industry!


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Prototype Shop Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the work of the prototype and test labs by assisting with the day to day operations of the lab, light assembly work, and general shop upkeep. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for hands-on work and a desire to work in a technology focused shop environment.

  • Prototype Team and Test Lab, this is shop help.
  • Very entry level work, not a true lab tech or engineering tech Could be a good role for a Technical Student off for the summer or a more internship like position.
  • Going through a reorg of the workspace, lots of clean up, lots of organizing.
  • Will also be able to assist with assembly and putting together pieces of fitness equipment (or taking apart) for testing.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Perform mechanical assembly work on fitness equipment, test fixtures and office
  • Assist with testing and troubleshooting of prototypes
  • Prepare and maintain tools and equipment for prototyping tasks.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other lab technicians to understand project requirements and timelines.
  • Occasional facilities maintenance support as required
  • Potential to extend based on candidate performance and business need. Could be a role / team that an individual can grow in.
  • Schedule is Monday-Friday 8 hour shift. (Times to be determined with manager).
  • 2 hours of OT a month.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is ONLY A PLUS NOT A REQUIREMNT.
  • Experience with basic hand tools
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new techniques and technologies


Bonus Experience (Nice to Haves):


  • Familiarity with CAD software or other design tools
  • Experience in woodworking, metalworking, or other fabrication techniques
  • Experience with 3D printing
  • Previous experience in a prototype or fabrication shop
