Position Purpose


 The Deposit Operations Utility Clerk supports the Deposit Operations Department through the performance of critical operational controls, file maintenance reviews, reconciliations, and quality assurance activities. This role helps ensure the accuracy and integrity of customer and account information by conducting independent review activities designed to support compliance with bank policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal control standards.


The position serves as a cross-trained resource within Deposit Operations and provides backup support for critical operational functions as needed. In limited circumstances, the role may also provide backup support for Loan Operations file maintenance review processes. This position maintains appropriate segregation of duties and does not have authority to perform account maintenance transactions.


Responsibilities 


· Perform customer and deposit account file maintenance reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures

· Complete reconciliations and review activities associated with SOX controls and other internal controls

· Escalate discrepancies, exceptions, or policy violations to management

· Maintain documentation supporting 

· Assist with audit requests and control testing activities

· Crosstrain on critical Deposit Operations functions to provide backup coverage during employee absences and periods of increased workload

· Provide backup support for Loan Operations file maintenance review processes.

· Research and respond to operational inquiries.

· Identify opportunities to improve processes and mitigate risk.

· Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.  

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Certifications 


· High School diploma or equivalent required


Required Experience 


· 1-3 years of banking, operations, accounting or related experience 

· Experience with reconciliation, quality control reviews, or audit activities preferred


Other 


· Ability to work a flexible schedule aligned with branch and operational hours, including occasional overtime as business needs may require

· Ability to read, interpret, and apply written instructions, procedures, and business correspondence accurately

· Ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers at all levels

· Cross training in Deposit Operations and Loan Operations is required
