Position Summary:
IEM is currently seeking a Production Planner Intern for our Jacksonville, FL location, reporting to the Production Planning Manager. This is a 6-week internship focused on production planning, giving the intern direct exposure to how IEM manages and analyzes production plans and orders. The intern will spend the majority of their time working in Microsoft Excel and INFOR to analyze production plans, validate that orders in the system align with actual production requirements, and support the planning team with data-driven insights. This is a hands-on, analysis-heavy role well-suited to someone who enjoys working with data and wants to understand how manufacturing planning works in practice.
Please note: This position requires 100% in-office presence at our Jacksonville, FL offices and does not offer remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the planning team in developing and maintaining production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Assist with reviewing customer orders and demand signals to help validate production requirements against established lead times.
  • Work directly in INFOR to analyze production plans and validate that orders in the system align with actual production requirements and customer demand.
  • Assist with capacity and material availability analysis to help identify planning constraints.
  • Participate in cross-functional planning meetings with Production, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives including Kanban systems, visual management, and data accuracy projects.
  • Perform heavy Excel-based analysis to track, compare, and reconcile production data, supporting planning decisions and team meetings with clear, accurate reporting.
  • The intern will be expected to perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data analysis or reporting is an asset.
  • Exposure to ERP or MRP systems is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
