Job description

Deloitte's Engagement Financial Advisor (EFA) team helps consulting teams manage the financial health of their projects. As a Project Financial Analyst, you will work closely with project leaders to manage budgets, track financial performance, forecast revenue and expenses, and help ensure projects stay financially on track.

This role combines financial analysis, project operations, and stakeholder support to help consulting teams manage the financial health of large client engagements. You will support projects throughout the full project lifecycle while gaining exposure to budgeting, forecasting, reporting, billing, and financial operations in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Work You'll Do: 

As a Project Financial Analyst, you will support one or more engagement teams by helping manage project financials, reporting, and operational processes.

  • Partner with project teams to manage budgets, track project financials, forecast revenue and expenses, and ensure projects stay financially on track
  • Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support engagement leadership decision-making
  • Monitor project spending and support billing and collections activities
  • Communicate financial updates, insights, and recommendations to internal stakeholders
  • Support day-to-day project operations and financial management activities across the project lifecycle
  • Help identify financial risks, process issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Use established project management and financial processes to support engagement quality and compliance
  • Contribute to team initiatives, knowledge sharing, and process improvement efforts
  • Regularly connect with your manager, coach (career advisor), and onboarding advisor to support your professional development

The successful candidate would possess these skills: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Comfort working with large datasets, financial reporting tools, and detailed analysis

The Team

The Engagement Financial Advisor team supports Deloitte consulting professionals by helping them manage the financial and operational aspects of client projects. The team works closely with internal stakeholders to support project planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and overall project financial performance.

This role offers the opportunity to build skills in financial analysis, project operations, stakeholder management, and consulting business processes while working on large-scale, complex engagements.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience or Business degree in Finance, Accounting, Economic or related discipline and 2 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting and finance principles
  • Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Ability to work in your local office at a minimum of one day per week
  • Candidates must be located within a commutable distance to one of the select locations available for this role 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred:

  • Experience working with a variety of contracting types (e.g., time and materials, fixed price) and billing scenarios
  • Experience in a professional services firm
  • Experience with MS Suite applications

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,200 to $121,800.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
