Operations Specialist (Account Opening)

Location: Fort Mill, SC (Hybrid)

Job Type: Contract

Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days onsite / 2 days remote

Overview

We are seeking an Operations Specialist to join a fast-paced financial services operations team supporting complex account opening and registration processes. This role is responsible for reviewing documentation, validating account requirements, and establishing new client accounts that require specialized handling beyond standard account-opening systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in financial services operations, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of various account registration types and supporting documentation requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and validate client documentation submitted through imaging and document management systems.
  • Ensure all required forms, signatures, and supporting documents are complete and compliant before account creation.
  • Process and open client accounts within internal back-office systems.
  • Support complex account registrations, including:
    • Trust accounts
    • Corporate and entity accounts
    • Minor accounts
    • Other non-standard registrations
  • Manage and update case workflows using case management platforms.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to resolve documentation and processing issues.
  • Utilize Excel to track, analyze, and report operational activities.
  • Maintain accuracy while working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Contribute to operational efficiency initiatives and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience within a broker-dealer, financial services, banking, or investment operations environment.
  • Knowledge of account registration types and associated documentation requirements.
  • Ability to identify required forms and supporting documentation for various account structures.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including:
    • Pivot tables
    • Formulas
    • Data analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple systems and applications simultaneously.
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with account opening platforms such as Appway.
  • Knowledge of back-office operations systems.
  • Experience with document imaging systems and workflow tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics or similar case management systems.
  • Previous account opening, account maintenance, or operations support experience.

Pay and Benefits
