Cummins Behavioral Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced clinician or a recent bachelor's graduate with strong interest in helping families in a position as DCS Visit Supervisor in Greencastle, Indiana. Qualified candidates should have a background in social work, human service and/or in mental health and have a passion to impact youth and families at our Putnam County outpatient program.

Job Summary:

The DCS Visit Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and facilitating supervised visits between children and their parents or guardians. The role involves ensuring the safety and well-being of the child during visits, providing support to parents, and documenting visit activities. The DCS Visit Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining and strengthening family relationships in a safe and structured environment.

Essential duties include: 

  • Monitor and supervise visits between children and their parents/guardians to ensure the child's safety and well-being
  • Communicate with DCS workers via various channels and provide monthly progress reports
  • Provide parent education and training, including community referrals and case management services, as needed
  • Document services in electronic and paper records, ensuring adherence to internal and external standards
  • Coordinate transportation for supervised visits
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, or a related degree in human service field is required 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive rapport with children and their parents/guardians preferred
