Job description

Description

As a Afterschool Counselor you would be responsible for assisting with the overall atmosphere, activities, development, and the nurturing of each child to their full potential and genuine communication with parents and other counselors, under the direction of the Director of Childcare. You would also assist with daily tasks to ensure safety and cleanliness.

1. Able to care for and nurture school aged children

2. Able to build genuine relationships with children, parents, and coworkers

3. Able to provide and create a welcoming atmosphere that is people centered and service oriented, greeting children by name, responding to needs in a timely manner

4. Be open, friendly, and approachable to children and parents

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Age: 18 years old

Experience: 1+ year of documenting experience working with youth 

Passion for working with school aged children ages 5 -13 

Hours Monday - Friday 2:50-5:45 PM

Provide TB test results every two years, provide a high school diploma, participate in fingerprinting through DCBS, two background checks, and participate in childcare training. Complete annual evaluation and provide an annual professional development plan.
