Job description

Purpose of Position/Summary:
The Supervisor's key purpose is to supervise the daily activities for an assigned area consisting of the Shipping Office, Receiving Dock or Picking Activities. Monitor workflow and maintain productivity. This position ensures that company guidelines relating to order turnaround time and inventory movements are adhered to.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Order Picking
  • Supervise order picking activities to insure accurate and timely shipment of goods;
  • Train new pickers on specific customer requirements;
  • Track productivity of picking operations;
  • Suggest improvements for efficiency and accuracy;
  • Monitor pick/path for any needed corrections or updates;
  • Monitor errors and coaches associates in error reduction;

• Outbound
  • Supervise customer order preparation;
  • Process customer orders, packing slips & BOL's;
  • Assist drivers with check-in process;
  • Schedule inbound and outbound shipments;
  • Oversee logistic and shipment of materials;
  • Oversee Small Parcels Department and Logistics;
  • Act as the point person and contact for TMS (Redwood) activities;

• Inbound
  • Ensure incoming receipts are processed accurately and timely;
  • Supervise activities of the packaging and returns groups;
  • Process receiving documents according to JSOX requirements;
  • Coordinate replenishment of pick bays;

• DC Leadership
  • Display key success factors such as integrity, mutual respect and team work;
  • Maintain security, safety and quality control standards;
  • Work with customer support, office staff and the sales team as needed;
  • Complete annual reviews with associates regarding their job performance;
  • Other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor or Manager on an as needed basis.

As a DC Supervisor, you'll lead daily warehouse operations in Shipping, Receiving, or Order Picking while motivating your team to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
What You'll Do
As part of our DC Leadership Team, you will:
  • Lead and support warehouse associates in daily operations.
  • Ensure customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time.
  • Supervise inbound receiving, outbound shipping, and inventory movement.
  • Train, coach, and develop associates while promoting a positive team environment.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and inventory accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and warehouse processes.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with carriers and logistics partners.
  • Oversee Small Parcel operations and Transportation Management System (Redwood) activities.
  • Ensure receiving documentation is completed accurately and meets JSOX requirements.
  • Partner with Customer Service, Sales, and other departments to meet customer expectations.
  • Promote a culture centered around safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Complete performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least one year of forklift experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience working in a warehouse or DC environment
  • Experience using inventory scanning systems and warehouse technology
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work overtime as business needs require

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
  • Five or more years of warehouse or DC experience
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lift 10-20 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature changes.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear.
