Job Description

Position Overview:
As a Maintenance Technician at Larson’s Albert Lea Distribution Center, you will ensure the safe and reliable performance of advanced automation systems. These include a Fanuc Robot door collator, dual gantry systems, Allen Bradley PLC-controlled equipment, Schneider 4-axis servo systems, Wulftec stretch wrappers, and conveyors. This role requires a strong ability to troubleshoot electrical systems (both high voltage 480V and low voltage controls) while also applying hands-on mechanical repair skills.

Key Responsibilities for 2nd Shift:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues with Allen Bradley PLCs, motor controls, and Schneider servo drives to quickly restore production.
  • Work safely with high voltage (480V) and low voltage systems, performing corrective and preventative electrical maintenance.
  • Apply strong mechanical skills to repair conveyors, gantry systems, stretch wrappers, and robotic equipment.
  • Execute and improve preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Collaborate with engineers and controls specialists to implement system improvements and automation upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including electrical schematics, CMMS work orders, and equipment history.
  • Provide hands-on support during system breakdowns to ensure fast recovery of production lines.
  • Follow all safety and EHS protocols, ensuring compliance with Fortune Brands standards and OSHA requirements.
Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechatronics, or related field preferred.
  • Proven maintenance experience in an automated manufacturing or distribution facility.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical troubleshooting on Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and Schneider servo systems.
  • Mechanical background with hands-on skills in conveyors, robotics, and material handling equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing 480V high-voltage and low-voltage circuits.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations and engineering.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or respond to urgent equipment breakdowns when needed.
  • Primarily 2nd shift (3:00 pm to 11:30 pm) Monday - Friday

$1,000 SIGN-ON BONUS UPON HIRE

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $24.80 USD - $35.59 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
