Job description

Position Summary 

The Database & Stewardship Specialist serves a critical role in supporting the Diocese of Winona-Rochester's stewardship, development, parish administration, and donor relations efforts through accurate database management, contribution processing, reporting, and customer service. This position ensures the integrity and security of parishioners, family, sacramental, and donor records while providing timely and accurate information to diocesan leadership, parishes, and ministry departments.
The Specialist acts as a key resource for data governance, stewardship reporting, donor record management, contribution administration, and system support. Through meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality, this role contributes directly to the Diocese's mission by ensuring reliable information is available to support ministry, development, and strategic decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Maintain parishioner, family, sacramental, demographic, donor and contribution records. 
• Perform data audits, record cleanup, duplicate resolution and quality control reviews. 
• Process gifts and donations from all approved payment methods. 
• Generate standard and ad hoc reports for leadership, finance and ministries. 
• Support fundraising, stewardship and donor acknowledgement activities. 
• Provide training and support for database users. 
• Ensure compliance with confidentiality, data security and audit requirements
 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

Excellent communication, analytical skills, attention to detail, customer service orientation, database management knowledge, advanced Excel skills, confidentiality, organizational effectiveness, and adaptability. 

Qualifications:
  • Required: Associate degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Data Analytics or related field.  

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree. Minimum of 2 years of database administration, records management, or related experience. Church, nonprofit and donor management experience preferred.
