  • This position is within our Enterprise Data & Analytics/Credit Risk Management Production Support Data Quality and Metrics team and provides support of critical month-end data loads data quality initiatives that support to the data mart, which is used by the Credit Risk Management business unit for CAR, CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis Review) and BASEL regulatory reporting, as well as other business critical reporting needs.
  • This position will play a senior lead role ensuring proper implementation of data quality during the creation and modification of data, according to data quality standards, guidelines, metrics and quality-expectations.
  • Defines rules to evaluate data quality and creates effective test plans.
  • Ensures accuracy, completeness, integrity, consistency, uniqueness and timeliness of data.
  • Executes Data Quality and Metrics team tests/assessments and data cleansing activities.
  • Serves as a liaison between the business and internal clients in managing the data loads for one or many portfolios, including execution of data load steps and active troubleshooting as needed to keep data loads on-schedule.
  • Leads proposal, design and implementation of data load process improvements to reduce speed to market and improve data quality for our customers.
Qualifications

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Reviews data loaded into the data mart for accuracy
  • Recommends maintenance enhancements and data quality metric requirements for data processes to improve the accuracy of the data mart data
  • Reviews referential integrity and historical integrity of data mart data
  • Assist in determining root cause of data quality issues and recommending short term and long term solutions
  • Perform in depth testing and validation of key data quality issues identified by business partners and other users of the data mart
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and document source-to-target and other data issues from internal and external customers
  • Resolves data quality problems
  • Leads planning, analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of process to support and improve the CLRTY database platform.
  • Leads consultation with and provides guidance to database users and client groups, often recommending tactical and strategic solutions.
  • Actively communicate data quality issues with multiple internal and external customers
  • Performs complex server-class database testing activities across various platforms and environments including one or more of the following:
  • Business requirement identification and analysis.
  • Conceptual, logical, and/or physical database design
  • Perform and create SQL queries to identify data issues.
  • Data modeling and/or mapping, mapping analysis.
  • Moderate to complex programming and coding to automate and/or support the database environment, SQL query creation and testing.
  • Analyze, query and manipulate data according to defined business rules and procedures
  • Performance monitoring and tuning.
  • Evaluate large datasets for quality and accuracy
  • Work with programmers to correct data quality errors
  • Determine root cause for data quality errors and make recommendations for long-term solutions
  • Research and determine scope and complexity of issue so as to identify steps to fix issue
  • Analyzing database data quality metrics and assisting with capacity planning data quality dashboard output and review.
  • Ensure adherence to data quality standards, Identify areas of improvement
  • Planning, testing, configuration and execution of installations, upgrades and migrations, SQL queries associated with key data issues found by customers.
  • Implementing security controls
  • Implementing an indexing strategy to support both effective data loads, and well as user extraction of data.
  • Leads mentors and/or provides guidance to less experienced database analysts, including guidance for troubleshooting escalated issues.
  • Participate in the development of data/database architectures and management policies, procedures and standards.
  • May lead moderately complex projects.

Required Qualification:

  • 5+ years database design and administration experience
  • 5+ years of experience writing Microsoft SQL Server relational database queries, stored procedures ,query optimization and performance tuning
  • 5+ years MS SQL server experience
  • 5+ years of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience RQO0005045
  • 5+ years of working with and/or writing ETL (Extract, Transform,Load) in a data warehouse environment

Desired Qualification:

  • 5+ years of working with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) experience
  • 5+ years of Knowledge of Ab Initio experience ETL and Data Quality tool
  • 3+ years of financial services industry experience
  • Knowledge of QA practices, Data Quality process improvements
  • Knowledge of research methods, data analysis using SAS or other data quality tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of Agile
  • Knowledge and understanding of database troubleshooting
  • Knowledge and understanding of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Knowledge and understanding of credit risk management
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with Visual Basic script, SSIS expressions.
