Data Management, Manager
As a member of Global data strategy team, the Manager Data Management, Commercial Patient Data reports into the Director, Patient Data Management. This position will manage Amgen's Marketing data clean room patient data assets (e.g., data generated from Marketing/Media Data, Third party data sets, etc.) This includes executing solutions to compliantly connect patient data assets that will serve as the foundation for driving consumer journey analytics that inform enhanced patient and HCP experiences. This position is responsible for executing the cross-functional processes, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure), and governance to ensure secure and appropriate access to these sensitive data sets. This individual will partner with Marketing, Decision Sciences, DTI, and other Commercial teams and multiple external vendors to support the patient data aggregation, marketing/media/third-party data integration, and ongoing operations
Responsibilities
  • Oversee data governance by collaborating with cross functional teams, conduct data exploration and analysis, lead the implementation, management, and operation of technology and infrastructure; and perform data validation.
  • Work closely with business partners and other stakeholders to facilitate use case submissions, as well as coordinate the review and approval process.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enforce data governance for connected data assets through effective data access management, business approval processes, and routine reviews.
  • Assess data needs with vendors to support the onboarding of connected data sets for new or approved use cases.
  • Collaborate with Martech vendors on implementing and maintaining end-to-end data curation processes for both new and existing data sources.
  • Coordinate with vendors for tokenization and bridging, linking first- and third-party patient data assets to enable comprehensive longitudinal analytics across patient marketing journeys-including digital and syndicated datasets.
  • Manage data operations, SOPs overseeing daily and weekly data refresh and aggregation activities supported by this role.
  • Address and resolve data-related inquiries from cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Detect data issues across various sources, implement quality checks, and monitor data integrity.
  • Ensure patient-level data assets are processed and managed in compliance with privacy and regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications-
  • Doctorate degree OR
  • Master's degree and 2 years of data management, patient or media marketing data experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of data management, patient or media marketing data experience OR
  • Associate's degree and 8 years of data management, patient or media marketing data experience OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 10 years of data management, patient or media marketing data experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working patient level datasets including Digital/Media data sources, Patient Support Programs, Syndicated Sales & Claims data sources, etc.
  • Experience with data, analytics, and technology solutions (GCM, Cloud platforms, SQL, Databricks, Tableau, SAS, Python, R, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively translate business stakeholder requirements to IT partners to ensure high quality, timely, integrated data assets
  • Deliver prioritized data deliverables through agile execution and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated self-starter, ability to work under limited supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills, active listening, and relationship management skills
  • Strong vendor management skills

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
