Job Title: Asset Management Associate (Data Center)

Location: Irving, TX or Lewisville, TX (onsite from day 1)

Duration:12+ Months
Employment Type: Contract


Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Asset Management Associate with a background in Data Center operations and asset lifecycle management. This role will support asset tracking, data analysis, inventory accuracy, and lifecycle processes including receiving, deployment, and disposal of IT and data center assets.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with asset management tools such as ServiceNow and DCIM platforms, along with strong analytical and operational skills.


Key Responsibilities

Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Manage end-to-end lifecycle of data center assets (servers, network devices, storage, racks)

  • Support asset receiving, tagging, inventory updates, and reconciliation

  • Coordinate asset disposition, decommissioning, and disposal activities

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and audit requirements


Data Analysis & Cleanup

  • Perform data analysis, validation, and cleanup of asset records across systems

  • Identify discrepancies between physical and system inventory (ServiceNow / DCIM)

  • Generate reports on asset utilization, aging, and lifecycle status

  • Support data normalization and standardization initiatives


Tools & Systems Management

  • Maintain and update asset records in ServiceNow (CMDB / Asset Management module)

  • Work with DCIM tools (e.g., Nlyte, Sunbird DCIM, or similar) for tracking physical infrastructure

  • Ensure synchronization between asset systems and physical inventory


Operational Support (Hands-on)

  • Assist with physical handling of assets (receiving shipments, labeling, staging)

  • Support rack/stack coordination and asset deployment tracking

  • Work closely with data center technicians and logistics teams

  • Participate in periodic inventory audits and cycle counts


Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Identify opportunities to improve asset tracking and reporting processes

  • Document workflows, SOPs, and best practices

  • Support automation initiatives within asset management systems


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in:

    • Asset Management / IT Asset Management

    • Data Center operations or infrastructure environment

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • ServiceNow (Asset / CMDB modules)

    • DCIM tools (any industry-standard platform)

  • Strong proficiency in Excel / data analysis

  • Understanding of data center hardware (servers, networking, storage)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with asset lifecycle processes in large-scale or multi-DC environments

  • Familiarity with ITIL practices

  • Experience in data cleanup / migration projects

  • Knowledge of inventory reconciliation and audit processes
