MPA provides after-sales service parts support for Hyundai Motors, Kia Motors, and Genesis. In addition to the distribution of genuine service parts, the MPA Accessories division develops accessories for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis - which are installed on new vehicles in the United States and Canada.
Description
Administer data processing for the Logistics department related to freight costs for Inbound & Outbound shipments through overseeing all Access database functions in the department. Provide all RFP and AMOS data through gathering and analyzing shipment history and freight costs of approx. $80 million+ annually. Audit and report the expense of international and domestic transportation versus budgeted amounts through weekly and monthly reporting.
Maintain transportation expense via data obtained from web reporting and query data to explain cost trends. Administer, communicate and prepare MPA freight payment expense reporting for HMA/KMA. Monitor service transit times reported from carrier web sites.
Manage carrier RFP and vendor RFP specification and processes. Develop and maintain department KPI dashboards. SME on Access database processes and involvement in special projects relating to cost studies as needed by management.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Download and analyze Access and Amos data warehouse data for projects and MPA management reporting. - 25%
  • Administer the monthly MPA cost analysis for MPA management review. Provide ad hoc reports and cost studies as needed by management. - 25%
  • Administer Carrier RFP bid processes and routing management summary as requested. Recommend carriers/vendors based on service/cost comparisons. - 20%
  • Create and maintain new and existing Access databases for HMA and KMA data. - 20%
  • Complete MPA Academy training requirements. - 10%

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
  • Maintain and create transportation databases as needed and provide analysis of all inbound and outbound freight expense.
  • Audit 3rd party freight payment data for correct modes and GL assignments;
  • Update funding documents from freight payment service web site to MPA internal Access databases for HMA and KMA data.
  • Update weekly/monthly summary of freight cost versus sales for MPA review.
  • Advise freight auditor of weekly files to analyze for possible cost savings.
  • Administer weekly/monthly freight payment reporting, including accruals.
  • Run and distribute monthly HMA and KMA Active Dealer reports.
  • Carlisle subject matter expert - pull and analyze data as required
  • Run Amos data warehouse queries as needed for reporting and special projects
  • Run cost estimate simulations based on sales and purchase projections, including freight cost changes (such as annual increases or new rates) to help determine KPIs and assist in Business Planning.
  • Administer the carrier or vendor RFP process to provide management with cost analysis, transit times and other related RFP data.
  • Recommend carriers/vendors based on service/cost comparisons.
  • Work with Systems Department to improve internal data processes.
  • Act as department subject matter expert for MCloud and new systems designs/implementation, as needed.
  • Provide ad hoc reports and cost studies as needed by management.

Required Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in related logistics activities such as freight rates, freight bill auditing and other sea/air/land carrier related activities.
  • Minimum of 5 years of analysis experience preferably within the automotive industry in the area of traffic/logistics/parts warehouse and claims.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and QMF (query management facility).
  • Advanced skills in MS Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced skills in MS Access: Ability to create tables, forms, charts, queries, macros and create and maintain new and existing databases as needed.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Previous experience with importing data files from mainframes and test formats to MS Excel/Access.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
