New Tech Global Staffing is currently seeking a Data & Logistics Technician for a client located in Houston, TX. This is a contract opportunity with the potential for long-term employment.

Summary:
The Data & Logistics Technician is responsible for supporting asset management, inventory control, logistics coordination, and maintenance tracking through Oracle Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and related systems. This role will ensure accurate asset documentation, work order processing, inventory reporting, shipping and receiving activities, and equipment record management while supporting operational and field teams.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the transfer of materials and equipment to designated locations using Oracle EAM and other tracking systems while maintaining accurate records.
Collect, organize, and upload photos, certifications, maintenance records, and other supporting documentation for capital assets and critical inventory.
Generate and maintain inventory, connectivity, maintenance, and asset tracking reports.
Verify physical receipt of purchased materials and equipment and accurately receive items within the purchasing system.
Research and provide receiving, inventory, and location documentation to support project invoice reviews.
Request asset identification numbers for newly acquired equipment and monitor labeling and tagging progress.
Update, modify, and maintain Oracle EAM equipment and asset records as needed.
Release, manage, complete, and close work orders with proper supporting documentation.
Track maintenance records, meter readings, inspection records, and asset documentation.
Conduct physical inventory audits at company yards and third-party storage locations.
Identify, research, and reconcile inventory discrepancies and asset record inconsistencies.
Utilize reporting processes to identify assets that are missing identification tags or documentation.
Source and obtain transportation and trucking quotes, compare pricing, and provide recommendations for approval.
Assist with reporting metrics related to equipment, assets, maintenance activities, and inventory.
Follow company procedures related to asset management, inventory control, receiving, shipping, and workplace safety.
Operate forklifts to safely load, unload, and move materials as required.
Travel periodically to yards, vendor locations, and field operations to verify assets, conduct audits, gather information, and provide EAM-related support.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2 years of experience using Microsoft Office, with strong proficiency in Excel.
Minimum 2 years of experience using computerized systems to create, process, and track work orders and inventory data.
Minimum 1 year of inventory control experience.
Minimum 1 year of forklift operating experience.
Experience receiving materials and maintaining inventory records.
Strong organizational, planning, and recordkeeping skills.
Ability to prepare reports, schedules, procedures, and process documentation.
Experience conducting physical inventories and reconciling discrepancies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under deadlines.
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.
Ability to travel to storage yards, vendor facilities, and operational locations as needed.
Forklift certification or the ability to obtain and maintain certification.
Must be comfortable working with multiple software applications and databases.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).
Previous experience as an EAM Technician or Asset Management Technician.
Knowledge of drilling equipment and drilling rig components.
Familiarity with engines, mud pumps, top drives, drawworks, and other rig equipment.
Experience working in oil & gas, industrial, manufacturing, or equipment rental environments.
