Job Summary

Aretum is seeking a Data Analytics Consultant, Journeyman with a financial emphasis to support the CISA CB PMSS contract. This role will focus on developing data analytics, reporting, automation, and visualization solutions that improve project transparency, data integrity, and leadership decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Power BI, SQL, data transformation, dashboard development, and stakeholder reporting. This position will also support project and process improvement efforts by using tools such as Power Automate and Power BI to create repeatable reporting solutions, automate workflows, and translate complex data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Due to the nature of our work as a federal consulting organization, employees may be expected to handle Controlled Unclassified Information and must adhere to applicable safeguarding and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and enhance interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for business, technical, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Design and implement data visualization and reporting solutions that improve transparency of process assessments, data integrity, and information governance initiatives.
  • Develop standardized project reporting and visualization tools, including Power BI dashboards, to provide real-time visibility into project progress, risks, key metrics, and technical milestones.
  • Use Power BI and related analytics tools to analyze project data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights that support project planning, execution, and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
  • Clean, transform, merge, and model data from multiple sources to support analytics, reporting, and dashboard development.
  • Utilize tools such as Power Automate to automate repetitive tasks, including status report generation, task reminders, notifications, and overdue task tracking.
  • Create and maintain reusable project dashboards that provide real-time insights into project status, progress, and key performance indicators.
  • Communicate complex data findings in a clear, actionable manner to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Regularly present findings, reporting outputs, and actionable insights to stakeholders to support strategic planning and operational visibility.
  • Support continuous improvement of reporting processes, data quality, dashboard usability, and analytics practices.
  • Stay current with Power BI updates, reporting trends, and industry best practices to improve data solutions and visualization approaches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data visualization, or related work.
  • Experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
  • Knowledge of DAX for calculations, measures, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in Power Query, including M language, for data transformation and preparation.
  • Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing complex data models.
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction, manipulation, integration, and reporting from various data sources.
  • Experience writing efficient queries and optimizing database interactions.
  • Background designing intuitive, interactive dashboards and reports for business and technical users.
  • Ability to translate complex metrics and datasets into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with data visualization best practices and user experience principles.
  • Experience cleaning, merging, transforming, and preparing data to ensure quality, consistency, and reliability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and data modeling.
  • Ability to clearly communicate data findings, trends, and recommendations to non-technical audiences.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Public Trust or client suitability requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with federal financial, budget, procurement, or spend plan data.
  • Familiarity with budget spend plans, FFMS, or similar federal financial management systems.
  • Understanding of the congressional budget cycle.
  • Experience with SQL Server, Azure, or cloud-based data solutions.
  • Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis.
  • Experience supporting federal consulting, DHS, CISA, or similar government client environments.
  • Experience using Power Automate to improve reporting workflows, reminders, and stakeholder notifications.
