We are currently seeking a Data Governance Manager to join our team in Cincinnati, OH/ Northern, KY area.
This is a hybrid role with onsite expectations of 3 days per week.
Your Role at Batesville:
As a Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible to design, implement, and manage Batesville's enterprise data governance program to ensure business data is trusted, secure, and compliant-enabling high-quality analytics, reporting, and critical decision making. This role will establish the data governance operating model, including policies, standards, stewardship practices, and data lifecycle controls across key domains and systems. Partnering closely with sales, operations, technology, business analytics, and product marketing, the Data Governance Manager will translate governance requirements into practical processes and solutions that improve data quality, integrity, and responsible use. Reporting to the SVP & General Counsel, this position will help embed privacy, risk, and records considerations into how data is created, managed, shared, and retained across the organization. This role will also maintain a close partnership with IT and Digital teams given the shared accountability for the enterprise Data & Analytics platforms.

What You'll Do:
  • Partner with business, technology, analytics, and marketing teams to map enterprise data flows, sources, and usage.
  • Establish and drive implementation of governance policies and standards for stewardship, data quality, metadata, classification, and lineage.
  • Work with the Technology team and select, implement, and administer data governance and data quality tools to support program objectives.
  • Establish data quality and control metrics and monitoring; lead control design and testing to improve integrity, accuracy, and privacy compliance
  • Support records management by aligning data retention and deletion practices with legal, regulatory, and enterprise requirements
  • Embed governance requirements into platforms, pipelines, APIs, digital products, personalization, and analytics use cases to ensure fit-for-purpose, trusted, compliant data
  • Partner with IT to design and implement governance-enabled infrastructure and privacy capabilities
  • Oversee data validation, defect management, and issue remediation processes.
  • Enable data stewardship by providing guidance on classification, access controls, sharing, transparency, and lifecycle management; align with legal, privacy, and security (e.g., HIPAA, state privacy laws, and data use agreements)
  • Drive adoption and compliance through training, communications, and periodic audits
  • Develop metrics to effectively communicate compliance with governance framework and risks to executive leadership and stakeholders
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to continuously improve governance and privacy practices
  • Own the enterprise data catalog and metadata program in partnership with Data & Analytics including a governed, reusable metrics layer for core business KPIs and master/reference data rules for entities shared across source systems

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a college or university in Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Management, Data or Computer Science, Business Analytics or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least eight (8) years or related work experience in data management, with at least four (4) years in a dedicated data governance role
  • Deep expertise in designing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies and standards
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of metadata management, data quality, and data stewardship principles
  • Ability to translate policies into practical implementation within business domains
  • Understanding of data retention, records management, and regulatory considerations impacting business customers, transaction data, and consumer data
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive adoption without direct authority over stakeholders.
  • Effective change management skills

Preferred skills/experience:
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or similar certification
  • Experience with industry standard data governance, metadata, or cataloging tools
  • Experience in data governance frameworks, policies and standards in healthcare, deathcare, or e-commerce space
  • In-depth knowledge of data security and compliance regulations relevant to U.S. state privacy laws
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with evolving business needs.
