Description
Team Fishel , the Best Choice Employer in the utility engineering business, is hiring a Field Data Collector for our Mechanicsville, VA Professional Services Group operation. The Field Data Collector will use a GPS unit to locate mapping points to aid in the design and permitting of utilities.
Requirements
  • Ability to work outside and be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Proficient at time management without direct supervision.
  • Must be able to work safely and follow safety guidelines.
  • This position requires occasional travel to and overnight stay in the area of the job site during the work week with advance notice
  • The job requires mostly outdoor activity and the ability to walk from pole to pole carrying all required equipment which may include a computer, laser rangefinder, digital camera, and range pole
  • Data Technicians will take all data from the field and input it into engineering computer systems, then process the information as needed
  • Accurately run mapping instruments including total stations with data collectors, GPS equipment, and other conventional mapping equipment
  • Perform data collection and take accurate and clear mapping notes
  • Maintain vehicle and field equipment
Qualifications
  • High School diploma and valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in rough terrain and inclement weather
  • Requires knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office and Google suite
  • Candidate must possess the aptitude to read maps, plan routes, and be able to work independently
  • Utility right of way knowledge/experience is a plus
Team Fishel will provide all training necessary to perform this job and candidate will work with other Teammates until fully qualified to work alone.
Starting pay $20 - $23 / hour depending on experience.
