Operations Manager

Position: Manager
Department: Operations
Status: Full-time

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager with a strong public accounting background to play a key leadership role in managing and enhancing the day-to-day operations of our firm. This individual will play a critical leadership role in executing the firm’s strategic vision, enhancing internal processes, and driving operational excellence across all functional areas.

This is more than an administrative position. The Operations Manager will work closely with the managing partner and leadership team to turn strategy into action, enhance workflow and efficiency, develop our people, and help position the firm for continued growth.

For the right individual, this position offers a clear leadership growth track to Operations Director, with the potential for future executive leadership and equity partnership.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Firm Operations: Oversee workflow across tax, accounting, and advisory services, including scheduling, staffing, deadlines, utilization, and overall capacity.
  • Drive Strategic Execution: Partner with the managing partner and leadership team to implement firm initiatives, monitor key performance indicators, and hold teams accountable to established goals.
  • Improve Processes: Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks and develop practical solutions to improve workflow, technology, communication, and profitability.
  • Develop Our Team: Lead recruiting, onboarding, retention, performance management, career development, training, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor Firm Financial Performance: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, billing, collections, cash flow, and key financial metrics while supporting pricing and profitability decisions.
  • Support Marketing & Business Development: Help execute marketing initiatives, strengthen the firm’s brand and client experience, and support partners in business development.
  • Lead Technology & Systems: Evaluate and implement practice management and workflow systems and promote automation and technology that helps to improve efficiency.
  • Champion Client Service: Help ensure consistent, high-quality client experience and address operational issues that may affect client satisfaction.

And so, what does it take to be part of our team? A professional (CPA License or actively pursuing, preferred, but not required) with 5–10+ years of relevant experience, with public accounting experience preferred. Candidates with strong operations, practice management, and leadership experience in other professional services environments are also encouraged to apply. A professional with a strong understanding of tax and/or accounting workflows would also be a preferred qualification

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $110,000 + based on experience, CPA certification, and technical expertise
