Nassau Candy is a premier importer, manufacturer, and distributor of specialty confections, fine foods, and promotional products. Our custom division partners with leading brands to deliver innovative packaging and merchandising solutions across retail, promotional, and souvenir channels.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Art Director with a strong background in apparel, package design, and catalog development within the promotional products and/or souvenir industries. This role requires a strategic creative leader who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, lead design teams, and deliver high-quality work on fast-moving timelines. Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and people management skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the creative development and execution ofapparel,packaging, catalogs, and related marketing materials.
  • Manage and mentor a team of designers, and production partners.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and brand standards are met.
  • Collaborate cross-functionallywith merchandising, product development, marketing, sales, and production teams.
  • Owncreative timelines, workflows, and project management systems.
  • Ensure designs are production-ready and aligned with print, packaging, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all product lines and communications.
  • Review and approve final artwork, proofs, and vendor files.
  • Stay current on trends inapparel,packaging, retail, print production, and the promotional/souvenir markets.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional design experience, with at least 3 years in an Art Director or senior leadership role.
  • Experiencecoordinating withaproductionteamto produceapparel orothersoft goods.
  • Proven experience in package design and catalog production, ideally within promotional products, souvenirs, or consumer goods.
  • Strong portfoliodemonstratingleadership-level work and productionexpertise.
  • Expert-levelproficiencyin Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage high volumes of projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing teams, freelancers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of print production, packaging materials,dielines, and vendor specifications.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with licensed brands, seasonal programs, or large SKU assortments.
  • Familiarity with workflow/project management tools
  • Promotional Product, Retail Souveniror B2B marketing experience.
