Job description

Site Superintendent - Portage, MI
DISHER is partnering with a well-established, local construction company to identify a Residential Site Superintendent to lead the day-to-day construction of high-end, one-of-a-kind custom homes. This role is ideal for a detail-driven construction professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, thrives in complex builds, and values delivering an exceptional client experience.
What it's like to work here:
This company has a history of high retention, promoting from within, and a high level of transparency throughout the whole organization. They live, day by day, by 5 core values: Do the right thing, be client focused, have a positive attitude, be a team player, and be proud of what we do. As part of the team, you'll partner closely with a Lead Project Manager while serving as the on-site leader, ensuring quality, schedule performance, and design intent are executed to the highest standards.
What you'll get to do:
  • Lead all daily construction activities for luxury custom homes while maintaining clean, organized, and client-ready jobsites
  • Ensure all work aligns with architectural, structural, and interior design plans while protecting premium materials, finishes, and custom features
  • Execute detailed, phase-by-phase construction schedules and coordinate sequencing of high-skill trades and specialty vendors
  • Plan around inspections, approvals, and long-lead materials; identify risks early and partner with the PM on solutions
  • Conduct continuous quality inspections with a finish-level focus, ensuring alignment, tolerances, and details meet luxury standards
  • Coordinate mock-ups, samples, and pre-installation reviews; manage punch lists for minimal rework and strong closeout delivery
  • Enforce safety protocols while preserving high-end materials; maintain dust control, site organization, and environmental protections
  • Ensure jobsites are secure and presentable for client/designer visits
  • Set clear expectations with trades on quality and sequencing; oversee specialty vendors (millwork, stone, glass, automation, etc.)
  • Monitor performance and escalate issues proactively; foster a professional, respectful jobsite culture
  • Maintain detailed jobsite records (photos, notes, inspections) and track progress in construction management software
  • Document design changes, field conditions, and constructability concerns; support project closeout and warranty documentation

What will make you successful:
  • 7-10+ years of residential construction experience with strong understanding of high-end finishes, custom details, and specialty installations
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and interior design plans
  • Excellent communication skills with trades, designers, and internal teams
  • High attention to detail and pride in delivering exceptional craftsmanship
  • Ability to manage complex, custom builds with longer timelines and dependencies
  • Experience specifically in luxury or high-end custom home construction (preferred)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
  • Familiarity with construction management software and jobsite documentation tools (preferred)
