POSITION SUMMARY
Support faculty and academic leaders in advancing teaching excellence and student success across the college. Design, implement, facilitate, and assess faculty development activities for all full- and part-time faculty that align with College frameworks (faculty competencies, guided pathways, ILOs, etc.). Support faculty individually and in group settings on topics related to classroom management, instructional design, delivery, assessment, and a range of evidence-based teaching practices. With direction from supervisor and in collaboration with Associate Deans, support faculty from onboarding throughout their time at the college, fostering a growth-oriented professional culture of teaching excellence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Research, evaluate, and promote evidence-based and emerging best practices in teaching, learning, and faculty development.
Design, develop, and facilitate individual and small-group instructional professional development for faculty using structured and developmental approaches across disciplines and delivery formats. Provide comprehensive support for all aspects of the student learning experience, including curriculum development, course design, instruction, and assessment.
Partner with faculty to improve instructional practices through data analysis, understanding student engagement, curriculum design, assessment strategies, and learning outcomes.
Guide faculty in implementing evidence-based teaching practices, including High-Impact Practices (HIPs), active learning, collaborative projects, experiential learning, and career-connected instruction.
Operationalize and support collegewide work related to teaching excellence, student success, instructional innovation, and educational technology adoption, including AI both as a teaching tool and a discipline-specific competency.
Develop resources, guides, and training materials that support faculty growth and instructional effectiveness.
Lead and facilitate faculty learning communities, peer collaboration opportunities, and reflective teaching practices.
Analyze trends, data, and feedback to identify high priority development needs, assess the effectiveness of faculty development initiatives and recommend improvements.
Collaborate with academic leadership, departments, and cross-functional teams to align professional development with institutional goals and strategic priorities.
Collaborate with faculty and academic leaders to support curriculum development and course design. Support faculty in the effective use of the Learning Management System (LMS) and curriculum systems (e.g., WIDS).
Serve and collaborate on cross-functional teams across the College and within the Wisconsin Technical College System.
Facilitate course content for best practices in pedagogy, accessibility, instructional design, and delivery practices, as well as College quality standards and policies related to design, development, and instructional delivery mode.
Create, coordinate, and facilitate regular communication with stakeholders through multiple communication channels.
Collaborate with TLC colleagues and faculty to recommend integration of existing and emerging instructional technologies or methods to enhance student engagement, success, and persistence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Master's Degree in Education, Career and Technical Education, Instructional Design, or related area with a major emphasis in faculty/staff development/training, curriculum development, instructional technology/design or similar content area Required.
Three years of teaching experience
Microsoft Office Suite and demonstrated used of technologies in the design of teaching and training materials. Experience utilizing Canvas learning management system a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable under the District's standard insurance policy terms
**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three years of experience within the technical college system/higher education/faculty development/instructional design.
