Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Logistics Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our freight operations — coordinating FTL, LTL, and bulk shipments from initiation to delivery. You will work closely with carriers, customers, and internal teams to ensure every shipment moves efficiently, accurately, and cost-effectively.

Working schedule: 8:00am- 4:30pm Mon-Thur in office. Work from home Friday

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love solving problems, and have a passion for keeping supply chains running smoothly, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and customers

• Manage the full shipment lifecycle — from sourcing and quoting to tendering and delivery

• Source, negotiate, and onboard new carriers to support transportation capacity needs

• Utilize contract rates and obtain spot quotes for non-contracted lanes

• Provide all required documentation to carriers, shippers, brokers, and consignees

• Ensure SDS and COA documentation is accurate and accompanies all shipments

• Verify that labeling aligns with shipping documentation

• Collaborate with production and customer service teams to meet customer requirements

• Provide regular shipment updates to customer service and sales teams

• Review and process shipping documents for accuracy and compliance

• Track and capture all shipment-related costs and maintain accurate ERP system records

• Partner with accounting to reconcile freight accruals

• Analyze logistics data and present operational summaries to leadership

• Identify cost-saving and value-added opportunities within the logistics function

• Serve as backup support for customer service, freight billing, and the Import & Logistics Manager

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of logistics experience required; hazardous materials experience is a plus

• Strong multitasking ability with sharp attention to detail

• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

• Ability to follow procedures and remain compliant in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and order entry software

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Microsoft SharePoint & Excel proficiency are required

• Clear and professional communication skills — written and verbal

Why Join

You'll join a team that values precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This is a role where your expertise directly impacts customer satisfaction and operational performance. We offer a supportive work environment and the opportunity to grow within our logistics and supply chain operations.
