  • The Fitter Carpet is responsible for consistently maintaining all carpeted areas onboard using established carpet fitting techniques and standards, and ensure the highest standard of replacement/repair of all carpet in all guest and crew accommodation and public areas. 
  • This includes responding promptly and efficiently to authorized carpet defect reports and ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • The role requires a professional demeanor at all times, starting with a warm and respectful greeting and maintaining a clean, presentable appearance. 
  • The Fitter Carpet must also keep the workplace clean and organized, and handle all tools and equipment with care.
  • Collaboration is key to success in this role. The Fitter Carpet works closely with the reporting officer and the Senior Technical Storekeeper to ensure adequate stocks of parts and materials are maintained onboard. 
  • In addition, the Fitter Carpet is responsible for providing accurate, daily records of completed work and materials consumed for input into the AMOS maintenance system.

  • Minimum two (2) yearof s work experience in n carpet fitting or similar maintenance roles.
  • Previous Cruise Ship Experience in a similar role is required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with AMOS or similar maintenance tracking systems is a plus.
  • Motivation to excel in all aspects of job duties and responsibilities. 
  • Personable communicator with outstanding social skills and a warm, friendly, and caring personality. Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to establish and maintain courteous and professional working relationships in a diverse cultural environment.
This position involves regular physical activity, including standing for extended periods and lifting or moving heavy items in line with operational requirements.
