Job description
MassBay Community College is seeking a part-time Humanitiesfaculty member to join the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences. Thisposition includes teaching Critical Thinking, a general education requirementfor all degree seeking students in person on the Wellesley, Framingham, andAshland campuses.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion forteaching and promoting success among a diverse student population and becommitted to the following college-wide goals:Â fostering a learner-centered environment that reflects best practices,establishing rigorous curricula and relevant programs of study to promotestudent success, and cultivating a culture of civility, collaboration,inclusion, and respect for individual differences and perspectives.Â
Faculty areresponsible for developing educational and evaluation materials consistent withthe philosophy and framework of the program, MassBay Community College, and, ifapplicable, accreditation, licensure, and specialty requirements, and formaintaining current expertise in the discipline.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Teach in-person Critical Thinking courses on Wellesley Hills, Framingham, or Ashland campuses, as assigned;
Prepare syllabi and develop curricula to address course and program requirements and student learning outcomes for Graduation Competencies as appropriate;
Use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate;
Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence in the discipline and the classroom;
Commitmentto Equity:
Support MassBay's commitment to the Equity Agenda;
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students on the College's strategic initiatives dedicated to closing the equity gap related to student outcomes;Â Â
Support MassBay's commitment to being anti-racist; embracing a community free of bias and inequality;Â
Contribute to discussion and review of applicable College policies with a critical lens toward diversity, equity and inclusion;Â
Engage with the Office of Diversity on issues related to underserved student success;Â
