We're excited to offer an opportunity for a Financial Consultant to join our mission of empowering our clients to take confident steps toward their financial futures. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted partner to your book of business. These clients are individuals who have both meaningful needs, and meaningful potential.

You'll bring your passion for client success, your strategic sales mindset, and your consultative approach to deepen relationships, uncover opportunity, and help clients get the most out of what Vanguard offers. You'll also collaborate with a community of peers-experimenting, coaching, and growing together.

If you're energized by purpose-driven work, relationship-building, and making personalized financial guidance more accessible, this may be the role where you thrive.

In this role, you will:

Serve as a Strategic Partner to Educate & Empower Your Book of Business

  • Engage potential leads to understand their goals, challenges, and what prevents full consolidation with Vanguard, while identifying when guidance, advice, or elevated support is needed.
  • Expand conversations to uncover deeper financial needs and learn more about clients' broader investment landscape and non-Vanguard holdings.
  • Offer thoughtful situational guidance or position our managed advice services when appropriate, ensuring clients know exactly what to expect and supporting them through implementation.
  • Support clients in aligning their actions with their financial goals through confident, value-driven positioning of Vanguard products and services.
  • Manage and advance a diverse book of current clients, and prospects, who have not yet committed.
  • Prioritize outreach based on potential, complexity, and timing. Continuously mining your book for opportunities to deepen impact.
  • Position Vanguard thoughtfully to earn trust, consolidate assets, and strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, advisors, and service teams to ensure each experience is smooth, supported, and aligned with our standards.

Deliver Personalized Value & Drive Growth Through Meaningful Outreach

  • Conduct advanced financial needs analyses to match client goals with the right Vanguard solutions.
  • Use your market and product expertise to help clients evaluate investment options and understand both the advantages and considerations behind them.
  • Follow through to ensure recommendations are received, understood, and acted upon.
  • Convert sales leads generated internally by initiating conversations that help prospects consider Vanguard as their long-term partner.
  • Conduct hightouch outreach. Including inbound, and outbound calls, that are tailored to the client's readiness and specific needs.
  • Identify obstacles preventing consolidation, address concerns, and guide clients toward clear next steps.

Lead With Purpose & Influence

  • Demonstrate leadership by coaching peers, contributing to best practices, and fostering a collaborative environment within the department.
  • Share insights, elevate sales skills, and model continuous improvement.
  • Help shape a culture of curiosity, growth, and client-first excellence.
  • Participate in special projects, pilots, or initiatives designed to strengthen the client and crew experience-and help shape the future of our business.
What it takes:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • At least three years of related work, ideally within financial services.
  • Experience managing a book of business and delivering exceptional client experiences.
  • Strong consultative sales skills and the ability to translate financial complexity into client confidence.
  • Excellent communication-verbal, written, and interpersonal.
  • Strong problemsolving abilities and timemanagement instincts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Broad knowledge of Vanguard funds, products, markets, and services (preferred).
  • Required regulatory licensing:
