Responsibilities

Alan B. Miller Medical Center opening in Spring 2026!

A neighborhood hospital with medical center excellence!  The new state-of-the-art hospital will join UHS’ growing regional network of healthcare operations which includes Wellington Regional Medical Center, the ER at Westlake (an extension of Wellington Regional Medical Center), Wellington Physicians Urgent Care and other healthcare services and access points.  The Alan B. Miller Medical Center will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building and a helistop. Upon completion of the initial phase of the project, the hospital campus will include 365,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space. The new Medical Center will offer comprehensive medical services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics and Surgical Services, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services. In addition, the campus will be home to medical office buildings that will provide outpatient services.

Biomedical Equipment Technician III

The HTM Biomedical Equipment Technician III (BMET III) performs evaluations, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on devices used in the care and treatment of patients at the facility, affiliates, and other institutions that have relationships either owned or contractual.  Manages projects.  Focuses his or her performance to ensure that all patients receive the safest and best possible experience while at the facilities serviced by the UHS HTM Program.  Works independently with minimal supervision.  Delivers exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, nurses, technicians, administrators and all persons who are contacted during the course of their service.  Delivers service that meets and exceeds all regulatory requirements and compliance for the position held.  Assists UHS HTM leadership with developing and strengthening facility and vendor relationships.  Responsible for executing and meeting all requirements of the established key performance indicators (KPI’s).

Qualifications

Education Requirements:  

  • Minimum of 2 years Technical School/Associate Degree 

Experience:  

  • Experience with healthcare technology management programs 
  • Must possess skill-set of advanced modality HTM expertise such as clinical laboratory, medical imaging, radiation/oncology, real-time location systems, alarm management middleware or high-end biomedical devices such as device integration/networking, catheterization lab/electrophysiology monitoring systems 
  • Medical equipment knowledge (manufacturers, models, modalities, capital planning, etc.) 
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements of medical devices (CMS, TJC, CLIA, AABB, NRC,State, Local) 

Skills: 

  • Advanced/Strong computer skills (proficient with Microsoft products), experience with CMMS products 
  • Strong planning and organization skills. Excellent verbal, written, communication and presentation skills 

License / Certification:  

  • Professional Certification Preferred (CBET, CRES, CLES, CHTM, PMP, AWS-CSAA, CISSP, CAN, MLT, CRCST and other professional certifications as deemed pertinent by the hiring director) 

Travel Requirements:   

  • Travel will be required periodically
