Position Summary:

The Commercial Relationship Manager will develop and oversee a Commercial Loan Portfolio, focusing on the growth and development of commercial and industrial relationships typically comprising businesses with annual revenues up to $20 million. Responsibilities include providing deposit services, commercial loans, treasury management, and other Everwise products and services. The Commercial Relationship Manager is accountable for diligently working with internal and external partners for credit approval, discussing other product offerings and making introductions to other lines of business, consistently building relationships with new prospects and centers of influence along with existing clients.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Actively engage in business development activities to attract new, profitable lower middle market businesses typically up to $20 million in revenues or loan sizes above $2 million.
  • Screen and interview commercial applicants to assess their financial needs.
  • Gather required information to compile a comprehensive loan package to submit for decisioning.
  • Conduct joint calls with MicroLenders, Business Bankers, Treasury Management, and other internal stakeholders and departments.
  • Perform robust financial analysis on loans and support underwriting.
  • Actively involved in closing loans by adhering to proper documentation procedures, obtaining required signatures, and disbursing funds as per approval.
  • Proactive administration of loan portfolio, deposit accounts, collections, and associated documentation.
  • Proactive portfolio management, ensuring loan compliance, mitigating risk, and maintaining profitability by acquiring and analyzing necessary financial data.
  • Cultivate and maintain professional community relationships to enhance Everwise's visibility and secure new business opportunities.
  • Actively engage in community service and promotional events, to foster personal development and enhance Everwise's positive reputation in the community.
  • Preview other financial products and introduce additional financial services to enhance member relationships. Such as - Commercial, Cash Management, Mortgage, and Retail Services.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required for the growth, advancement of Everwise.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Corporate and Commercial loan experience across diverse industries, and commercial real estate asset classes.
  • Proficient in negotiation, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Deliver exceptional service to our business members, regardless of circumstances.
  • Utilize interpersonal skills in interviewing, negotiating, selling, and managing difficult conversations with members.
  • Uphold impeccable integrity by safeguarding the best interest of Everwise and its members through prudent lending practices and risk mitigation.
  • Knowledge of business and contract laws.
  • Strong understanding of commercial credit, loan services, and credit risk policies and procedures.
  • Solid understanding of treasury management.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understand and adhere to government laws, regulations, and Everwise's policies and procedures concerning Anti-Money Laundering Regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US PATRIOT ACT and OFAC.

Minimum Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Finance, related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 4+ years' experience in business banking or commercial lending within the financial services industry
  • Excellent skills in commercial financial software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Relevant certifications or advanced degree, preferred.
