Job description

Job Title: Account Executive

Department: Sales

FLSA Status: Exempt

Supervisory Responsibilities: No


   Summary:

The Account Executive (AE) is responsible for managing all account and project activity within assigned accounts and will be the clients' key contact for all day-to-day business. The AE role will secure both product and service contracts, assist with strategic and tactical issues, and provide a leadership role on all major new business initiatives.

   Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maximize sales volume within your accounts with a strong gross margin; minimize mistakes and errors that negatively affect profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Deepen customer relationships and increase our market share within your accounts
  • Open new accounts within the market and drive specific assigned competitively held target accounts
  • Develop and maintain a strong professional network to help you identify potential opportunities and become better connected within our business community
  • Required to implement complex sales and achieve higher than expected results by working effectively with diverse groups of people at various levels within an organization to address all needs and concerns
  • Lead project proposal team, generate customer quotations and write orders
  • Coordinate appropriate resources to establish, maintain, and enhance our position within assigned accounts
  • Identify customer needs by acting as a resource to respond quickly and professionally while adhering to established procedures for conducting business in a courteous manner that supports our customer service philosophy
  • Develop a yearly business plan
  • Create account profiles for all key accounts, maintain a comprehensive CRM database with leads, opportunities, and monthly 30/60/90 forecast
  • Monitor detailed status reports with Customer Service on all account activity, including all open orders and invoicing
  • Attend all required Sales meetings and trainings
  • Maintain knowledge of current products, services, issues and design concepts, trends and applications relating to COR's products and services and the contract furniture industry
  • Assist Accounts Receivable with collections as required
  • Additional duties as required

   Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • 4-year degree, concentration in Marketing or Business preferred
  • 2-5 years of work experience - industry experience extremely helpful
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide range of people within and outside of COR:
    • Must be able to read, write, interpret, and communicate fluently in English
    • Writing skills must be sufficient to compose and edit a variety of documents using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation, with the ability to pay close attention to detail and proofread work carefully
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite with ability to learn and use new computer programs/applications
  • Good organizational, time management, customer service, and problem-solving skills:
    • Ability to work accurately to meet deadlines by adapting to changes in work environment, work assignments, and/or changes in priorities in a flexible way by working from your own initiative and/or following direction, policies, or procedures
    • Use analytical and decision-making skills to offer options and resolve problems in a variety of contexts
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, ensuring efficiency of projects from start to finish
  • Ability to read and understand floor plans and other related technical drawings
  • Exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment and discretion in handling confidential materials and matters as well as highly complex sales challenges

   Physical Demands:

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers

   Work Environment:

  • Work performed in a fast-paced office environment daily with visits to various sites including warehouses, construction sites, client sites, and offices
