Job description

Title: Account Manager

Department: Sales

FLSA Status: Exempt

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Summary:

The Account Manager is responsible for managing all account and project activity within assigned accounts and will be the clients’ key contact for all day-to-day business. In most accounts, there will be an Account Executive (AE) who will team with the Account Manager (AM). The AE's role will be to secure both product and service contracts, assist with strategic and tactical issues, and provide a leadership role on all major new business initiatives.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Market and promote all of Creative Office Resources products and services
  • Coordinate appropriate resources to establish, maintain, and enhance our position within assigned accounts
  • Respond quickly and professionally to clients’ needs while adhering to established procedures for conducting business within Creative Office Resources
  • Develop a Business Plan based on anticipated business for all assigned accounts
  • Initiate and maintain Account Profile for all key accounts
  • Regularly meet with your Account Executive to review the status of each account
  • Provide AE with detailed status reports from customer service on all account activity, including all open orders, proposals, and projects
  • Keep AE informed of any problems or unresolved issues, changes in personnel, product standards, or competitive initiatives
  • Attend all sales and team meetings
  • Participate in all relevant training opportunities
  • Submit all requested information in the time designated
  • Other duties as required

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • 4-year degree, concentration in Marketing or Business preferred
  • 1-3 years of work experience – industry experience extremely helpful
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide range of people within and outside of COR:
  • Must be able to read, write, interpret and communicate fluently in English
  • Writing skills must be sufficient to compose and edit a variety of documents using correct spelling, grammar and punctuation, with the ability to pay close attention to detail and proofread work carefully
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite with ability to learn and use new computer programs/applications
  • Good organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skills:
  • Ability to work accurately to meet deadlines by adapting to changes in work environment, work assignments, and/or changes in priorities in a flexible way by working from your own initiative and/or following direction, policies, or procedures
  • Use analytical and decision-making skills to offer options and resolve problems in a variety of contexts
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, ensuring efficiency of projects from start to finish
  • Ability to read and understand floor plans and other related technical drawings
  • Exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment and discretion in handling confidential materials and matters as well as highly complex sales challenges

Physical Demands:

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in fast-paced office environment daily with visits to various sites including warehouse, construction sites, client sites and offices
