As a Creative Director, you'll be an influential creative leader, building powerful multichannel direct response fundraising campaigns for our nonprofit clients. You will develop creative campaigns that touch hearts and inspire action for great causes. You'll direct the visuals and design for audience-driven direct response work across print and digital channels- direct mail, email, digital, display, social, and more. You'll come ot the table with strategies, ideas, direction, innovation, and recommendations that produce stellar results for our clients.

You must be a proven leader, effective communicator, and exceptional motivator with a track record of building strong teams and client relationships and developing high-performing work. The ideal candidate will come from the design side but demonstrate fluency in providing direction across both copy and art- translating KPIs and audience insights into powerful creative, and messaging reflective of data-driven insights, brand strategies, and direct response fundraising best practices.

  • Serve as an influential creative leader, inspiring clients and agency teams with strategies, ideas, and recommendations that produce effective fundraising solutions.
  • Work on large, integrated clients to ensure that all elements of a campaign work together to maximize fundraising goals.
  • Be a working, "hands-on" creative director who ideates and develops concepts and designs.
  • Interpret and translate input from clients, strategists, and other stakeholders into effective concepts and creative campaign executions.
  • Provide clear and concise creative direction to the team throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring all work aligns and maps back to goals.
  • Conceptualize and develop innovative, best-in-class creative solutions across clients.
  • Combine brand and fundraising best practices to produce results-oriented creative targeted to each audience.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of design, cultural, digital marketing, and business trends, implementing innovative approaches to enhance campaign effectiveness.
  • Participate in the conceptual and tactical development of campaigns, contributing to tone, voice, and positioning.
  • Assist in the development of new business pitch materials; present concepts and strategies to clients and potential clients.
  • Travel as requested for creative presentations, client relationship-building, and staff development.
  • Mentor copywriters, art directors/designers, and other agency partners.
  • Identify and elevate opportunities for improvement of creative strategies and executions.
  • Handle multiple projects at various stages as part of a team or independently.
  • Work collaboratively with strategies, creative teams, account teams, developers, and other agency partners under tight deadlines.
  • Inspire teams and clients through innovations, technology, and thoughtful creative work that provides strong fundraising results.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Fine Arts, Visual Communications, Graphic Design, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years' experience in developing creative for direct response fundraising for nonprofits preferred (agency or in-house).
  • 5+ years' experience working on accounts for national brands preferred (for-profit, nonprofit, or both).
  • Proven success supervising and developing creative staff.
  • Client-facing experience required.
  • Portfolio of innovative concepts with results.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms: Workfront, Basecamp, Asana, a plus.
  • Strong ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise, compelling content, including design, tone, voice, and positioning.
  • Deep knowledge of offer-focused, insight-driven direct response and design principles.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • A commitment to quality, sound judgement, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven record of building strong client relationships.
  • Experience working with established brand guidelines.
  • Extreme attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting critical deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional time management, critical thinking, and communication skills.
