Job Summary
Responsible for leading multimedia production and digital engagement initiatives, including social media, video production, photography, HCC-TV and digital storytelling. Responsible for creation, management and distribution of content across multiple platforms to enhance audience engagement and strengthen the college's brand. Develops and implements content strategies that align with the college's strategic communication and marketing plan as well as the HCC Strategic Plan ensuring consistent messaging, increased visibility, and meaningful engagement with internal and external audiences.
Executive level staff at HCC are system-wide leaders that share the responsibility to collaboratively support the one-college vision articulated in our strategic plan - Embracing Houston's Future - with college strategic priorities as measurable manifestations of our shared Mission, Vision, and Values.
Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provide reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Manages Talent Engagement activities for direct reports, as appropriate, in regard to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, development, mentoring, counseling, and performance evaluations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead the College's multimedia and digital engagement efforts to ensure Houston City College's brand, messaging, and institutional priorities are communicated consistently across all colleges, departments, centers, and programs.
Oversee multimedia operations, production workflows, project timelines, and resources to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality, operational efficiency, innovative, and brand-aligned content across multiple platforms.
Supervise the multimedia and digital engagement team, directing content creation, social media engagement, and multimedia initiatives that strengthen the College's digital presence, protect its reputation, and support institutional priorities.
Provide strategic communications counsel, media relations support, and multimedia planning to the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communications and Marketing and executive leadership.
Analyze multimedia performance metrics and audience engagement data to guide content strategy and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with district and college communications and marketing teams to coordinate multimedia production, streamline workflows, reduce duplication of effort, and support divisional priorities through effective visual storytelling and digital engagement.
Develop, monitor, and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) for multimedia production, digital engagement, and social media performance; analyze trends, measure outcomes, and provide timely reports and recommendations to support executive decision-making and continuous improvement.
Prepare reports, presentations, and strategic plans for senior leadership regarding multimedia initiatives and performance.
Ensure compliance with copyright laws, licensing agreements, accessibility standards, and institutional policies and regulations.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal departments, colleges, and external partners to advance multimedia initiatives, enhance stakeholder engagement, and strengthen the College's institutional presence.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
โ€ข Master's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, public affairs, or related field required
โ€ข 6 years experience in in marketing, public relations, communications, public affairs, or a similar field required.
โ€ข Experience overseeing and executing specialized assignments that include numerous stakeholders and the use of multiple communications platforms preferred

Working Conditions
General office. May frequently be required to walk; stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
