As we continue to expand across new markets, product lines and channels, strong consistent and creative execution is critical. We're looking for an experienced Art Director to help bring Claybourne's visual identity to life across everything we touch - with the ability to execute at a high level to help shape and guide the creative direction as we scale.
Job Overview:
Claybourne is looking for a hands-on, Art Director to join our creative team in Perris, CA.
The Art Director is a hands-on, high execution-focused creative role responsible for designing, directing and delivering a wide range of brand and marketing assets across B2B and B2C channels. This role collaborates closely with the VP of Marketing on brand-defining initiatives while owning day-to-day creative direction and managing design execution across the team. This role is ideal for an experienced Art Director who thrives in a fast-moving, brand-led environment and enjoys balancing creative leadership with hands-on design execution.
Key responsibilities:
Hands-On Design (Primary Focus)
  • Designing a wide range of assets including:
    • New product launch assets
    • Retail & trade marketing materials
    • POP displays/signage and event build-outs
    • E-mail templates (Klaviyo or similar)
    • Social media and digital campaign assets
    • Packaging extensions and light branding work
    • Merchandise and apparel
  • Execute projects from concept through final production
  • Ensure all work aligns with Claybourne Co.'s brand standards and visual tone

Creative Ownership & Collaboration
  • Translate business and marketing goals into strong visual solutions
  • Partner with VP of Marketing on brand-defining initiatives
  • Work cross-functionality with product, sales and operations
  • Maintain consistency across multiple product lines and channels

Leadership Expectations & Team Support
  • Lead and direct creative work across marketing and brand initiatives
  • Provide feedback and guidance to other designers on the team
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all visual outputs
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership to translate strategy into creative direction
  • Help maintain and evolve Claybourne's visual standards as the brand grows

Basic Qualifications:
  • 6-10+ years of professional graphic design experience (brand, in-house and/or agency)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating brand systems, marketing and retail design, typography, layout, and visual storytelling, deep experience designing for both print and digital
  • Highly organized and able to practice clear and open communication
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with the ability not to sacrifice quality
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), e-mail, digital asset workflows, and print production
  • Experience in consumer brands, lifestyle or CPG is a plus
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking and executing with a strong attention to detail
  • Cannabis industry experience a plus but not required
  • Ability to travel, if needed

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Pay Range: $100,000-$115,000
