POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate and strategic Director of Client Communications to partner with K-12 school districts in telling their story and building trust within the communities they serve. In this highly collaborative role, you will lead community relations campaigns, branding initiatives, and strategic communications efforts that inspire engagement and generate public support for bond elections, voter-approval tax rate elections, and district-wide initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITES

Strategic Client Communications

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive client communication strategies, including branding initiatives, public relations campaigns, community engagement efforts, and election communications.

  • Partner with K-12 school district leadership to develop communication plans that build trust, strengthen community relationships, and support district goals.

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned clients, acting as a trusted advisor by providing strategic communications guidance, offering guidance and insights to support district goals, and helping navigate complex community initiatives.

  • Lead community outreach initiatives, public presentations, and stakeholder engagement efforts that strengthen district visibility and community support.

Bond & Election Campaign Leadership

  • Develop and execute communication strategies, messaging, campaign timelines, and engagement plans for school bond elections and voter-approval tax rate elections.

  • Guide school districts through community engagement efforts leading up to bond elections, ensuring clear, transparent, and effective communication with stakeholders.

  • Support clients in understanding, navigating, and adhering to election laws.

  • Collaborate with community organizations and Political Action Committees while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, ethics, and guidelines.

  • Develop data-driven voter and community analysis to identify communication opportunities, shape campaign strategies, and support informed decision-making.

Content Development & Creative Direction

  • Collaborate closely with graphic designers, digital media specialists, and marketing professionals to ensure creative deliverables effectively communicate campaign goals and maintain brand consistency.

  • Write and edit high-impact messaging, speeches, presentations, newsletters, website content, and other communication materials tailored to diverse audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, community engagement, marketing, or campaign management.

  • Prior experience leading communication strategies for public sector organizations, K-12 school districts, municipalities, or government agencies is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience building trust and credibility, managing multiple clients, and serving as a trusted strategic advisor.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Creative, adaptable, and solutions-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

  • Proficient in MS Office, Power BI, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva are preferred.
