Job description

A Crane Rigger Trainee is an inexperienced applicant who is responsible for learning and performing all tasks on a Crane. They will assist with inspections and configuring cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, and blocks according to weight and size of the load to be moved.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Align, level, and anchor machine
  • Attach loads to rigging support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools
  • Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, booms, using bolts and clamps
  • Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use
  • Fabricate, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear
  • Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials, such as heavy equipment
  • Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches according to load weights and sizes
  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads in order to ensure safety of workers and materials
  • Attends and participates in safety meetings
  • Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability
  • Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under and/or around obstacles
  • Understand and comply with company, customer, and health/safety policies, and any other regulations that are required
  • Reports any and all incidents immediately
  • Able to work in all weather conditions
  • Performs other duties as directed by management

  • Must be clean shaven

This is a full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work as job duties demand.

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Class A or B CDL, preferred
