Crane Lift Director

Location: Vernon, TX

Duration: 3+ Months (Start: 8/3)

Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $56/hr

Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week for Non-Local Candidates)

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 12-Hour Days

60+ Hours Per Week

Join a structural steel contractor supporting the construction of a large-scale data center in Vernon, TX. This position serves as the Crane Lift Director, providing leadership and oversight for crane operations, critical lifts, rigging activities, and structural steel erection throughout the project.

The Crane Lift Director will work closely with crane operators, riggers, ironworkers, superintendents, and project leadership to ensure all lifting operations are properly planned, coordinated, and executed in accordance with OSHA regulations, industry standards, and project-specific lift requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Current NCCCO (CCO) Lift Director Certification
  • Experience directing crane operations on commercial or industrial construction projects
  • Experience developing and executing lift plans and critical lift plans
  • Strong knowledge of crane load charts, rigging practices, and crane setup requirements
  • Working knowledge of OSHA crane and derrick regulations
  • Experience coordinating crane operators, riggers, signal persons, and field supervision
Preferred Qualifications
  • Data center construction experience
  • Structural steel erection experience
  • Critical lift planning experience
  • Qualified Rigger and/or Signal Person Certification
  • Experience supporting multiple crane operations simultaneously
What You'll Be Doing
  • Serve as the onsite Crane Lift Director for all crane and lifting operations
  • Develop, review, and approve lift plans and critical lift plans
  • Coordinate daily lifting activities with project supervision and field personnel
  • Verify crane setup, ground conditions, crane capacities, and lift configurations
  • Review crane load charts and ensure lifts remain within allowable operating limits
  • Coordinate crane operators, riggers, signal persons, ironworkers, and superintendents
  • Monitor structural steel erection and material placement activities
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA crane regulations and project-specific lifting requirements
  • Conduct field observations and audits of lifting operations
  • Participate in pre-lift meetings and pre-task planning activities
  • Identify lifting hazards and implement corrective actions before work begins
  • Maintain documentation related to lift planning and crane operations
  • Promote safe lifting practices and a proactive safety culture throughout the project
