About The Opportunity -
C.W. Matthews is seeking an experienced Crane Operator with a strong safety record and a background in heavy civil or bridge construction. The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity for an experienced operator looking to build a long-term career with a company that values its people and provides room to grow.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities
The position consists of, but is not limited to, the following duties:
  • Operate mobile and fixed cranes to lift, move, and position bridge components such as beams, girders, and precast elements
  • Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance of crane equipment
  • Work closely with riggers and signal persons to ensure safe and precise lifting operations
  • Set up and dismantle crane equipment in accordance with project requirements
  • Maintain accurate lift logs and equipment usage records
  • Adhere to all OSHA, DOT, and company safety protocols
  • Assist with other site duties as needed to support bridge construction operations

What We're Looking For
Required
  • 3+ years of crane operating experience in bridge construction.
  • NCCCO certification in:
    • Lattice Boom Crawler Cranes (LBC)
    • Telescopic Boom Cranes
    • Swing Cab Cranes (TLL)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive pile and set beams.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Reliable, dependable, and willing to be part of a team.
  • Eager to learn and receptive to coaching.

Preferred
  • CDL Class A or B.
  • NCCCO Telescopic Boom Crane - Fixed Cab (TSS) certification.
