Role Description The Crane Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Fort Wayne, IN. This role is responsible for inspecting, installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead cranes and related lifting equipment at customer and company locations. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues, performing preventive maintenance, and completing necessary adjustments and component replacements to ensure safe and efficient operation. The Crane Technician documents all service activities, communicates findings and recommendations to supervisors and customers, and follows established safety procedures and regulatory guidelines. This position may require working at heights, using specialized tools and test equipment, and occasionally supporting emergency or after-hours service calls.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with lifting equipment and overhead cranes, including safe operation and understanding of load handling principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and control systems typically found in crane and heavy equipment applications.
  • Background in field service work, including on-site diagnostics, repairs, and professional interaction with customers.
