Job description

Food Service Position

Provide essential food services including preparing, cooking, and serving all menus. This is a seasonal, stipend-pay position at $250-$375/week depending on experience; lodging and meals included.

Essential Functions:

  • Thorough, safe, food preparation
  • Implement menus during summer camp to satisfactory levels
  • Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards
  • Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a food service establishment
  • Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: resident camp food service, banquet food service, large scale catering
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Previous experience with diverse populations preferred

Environmental Factors, Physical Requirements:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:
  • May be required to walk, stand, kneel, and stoop.
  • Continuous operations requiring attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Must be able to lift, pull and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.

An offer of employment is contingent upon receipt of satisfactory results to meet minimum requirements of the position. They may include criminal background and reference checks, E-Verify, drug test, driver's license record, and/or a Child Protective Services Check (CPS).
